The opening question

Maya opened the session by reading the residue paragraph from “The Ladder Was the Trap” out loud and asking: if the residue is shrinking, what’s the half-life of my edge?

Three threads emerged:

1. The recording asymmetry. What gets recorded is not what gets remembered. The texture of a meeting that everyone left feeling differently about is residue, even if the transcript is in someone’s vault.
2. The exposure premium. Models train on what was written; practitioners are formed by what they were exposed to. Specific exposure ≠ general training data.
3. The redesign question. “How do I position around judgment” is the wrong frame. “How do I redesign the work so judgment is load-bearing” is the right one.
