The prompt
You are about to study a decision or process I just completed. I want you to learn how I think — not just what I did, but why I likely did it.
Here is the context:
[PASTE YOUR SESSION — a transcript, notes, or description of decisions you made recently. Can be a client conversation, a writing sprint, a strategy session, or any situation where you made meaningful choices.]
Please do the following in order:
1. Identify the key decisions I made in this process.
2. For each decision, infer the reasoning pattern or values that likely drove it — not "what I chose" but the underlying logic, priorities, or instincts I was expressing.
3. Identify recurring patterns across multiple decisions that indicate how I tend to approach this type of problem.
4. Summarize these as 3-5 "operating principles" I seem to hold — the implicit rules I appear to be following, even when I haven't stated them.
5. Tell me: if you were to write something new in my voice, drawing on this reasoning, what would you include that wouldn't be there with generic instructions?
Don't describe what I did. Tell me how I think. That's what I need you to remember.
